Wheel of Time

Wed Oct 28, 2009, 6:40 PM
For all the Wheel of Time fans out there:

I have not read Book 12, Part 1 of A Memory of Light, aka The Gathering Storm (I know they ditched the idea of having one book in three parts and made it three different books but my understanding is that Jordan wanted it to be one book so if it is published in three volumes than it will always be part 1, 2, and 3 to me, under the title that Jordan had specified, being A Memory of Light. But I digress...)

The point of this whole thing is DON'T GIVE ME SPOILERS. PLEASE.

I passed the book on the shelf today at a bookstore (twice!) and had to force myself to keep walking. I am determine to finish my second read through of the series first so I can remember all the wonderful characters and thus enjoy the new installment to the fullest. Therefore, it may be some time before I get the chance to read it.

Luckily, I got the change to read a good 12 hundred pages in the past 5 days or so.

Although I have heard it said that some people find the first books the most interesting I have to say that although I found the first few books amusing (and awesomely ironic) the second time around, most of the events that I have been looking forward to reading over are just appearing now (as I begin the 5th book).

Unfortunately, it might take a while (although I read about 1,200 pages in the past week or so) because school is in = I am very busy.

On a side note, college hunting went well. They said that I am looking like I will be a strong candidate for several scholarship opportunities which are REALLY appreciated. Also, I really liked the school. I could see myself going to school there.

As for not so good news, I feel pretty terribly right now. I think I might be suffering from a relapse of mono (and my mom thinks so too). urgh. soooo sleepy............

ahhh sorry. I've been sick. I haven't done anything interesting in forever, so I was waiting until I actually had something to say.

Anyway, don't worry, I'll write you back soon!

Bahahaha! I was just reading Eye of the World, right when Rand gets into town and he is talking to Mat about the black rider they saw. Mat said he was definitely evil and then he goes "Maybe it was the dragon!" And rand says "You're just full of cheerful thoughts today". HAHAHA I laughed so hard!

Yeah. I also love how Rand and Perrin, whenever they are dealing with women, always think that the other guy would know what to do haha.

I know! Jordan is a master of irony, is he not? And you can only catch it the second time around! He must have been laughing his head off the whole time he was righting the first few books!

I look forward to it!

I got interrupted (this happens every so often) by the need to read a classic/something to increase my literary knowledge. This came in the form of Shogun (which I just finished, because I kept getting distracted by other books). I finally finished Shogun and I hope to continue my read through (time to start book four!!).

As for art, I remembered the bubbles of evil concept a while back, and I have a picture of Shaidar Haran blowing bubbles (out of an classic classic orange or pink bubble blower) and I can't get out of my head!
